Field Trips

Field Trips are an important part of a child’s educational experience.  Throughout the year, The Village Nursery School students partake in various field trips, many of which are only a short walk from our school.  These include:

Lawrence Farms (Newburgh) to learn about how apples grow, pumpkin picking, hay maze and fun in the miniature village.

Storm King Firehouse to learn about fire safety

A local dentist to learn about dental hygiene

Cornwall Public Library to learn about the library and all the special programs offered to the community

Cornwall-on-Hudson Elementary School (to preview the “big” school)

The Museum of the Hudson Highlands to learn about different animals

Visit from a local police officer and Cornwall Volunteer Ambulance Corps member to introduce students to our friendly neighborhood helpers

While the four-year-olds get to experience the going out on field trips, we bring many of these experiences to the school for our three-year-olds.
